Independence Day 2021
Today is Independence Day, the 4th of July, 2021. Please take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the men and women that have served our country in its times of need and those that are serving right now, including the more than 110,000 U.S. troops currently deployed abroad.
Our liberties and our freedoms were made possible by their forebears in uniform and are sustained by their service today. It matters not whether they served in combat or served here at home, or even whether they were drafted or volunteered, they all wore the uniform and stood ready to serve where we needed them the most.
The MVAT Foundation brings needed post-military employment and career-building assistance to American veterans and their families, chiefly through our Heroes Linked program, for which we just won (last night in Washington DC)—for the second year in a row—the VETTY Award for Employment presented by the Academy of U.S. Veterans, a nonprofit organization that serves as ”a platform for veteran service organizations to be recognized for their tireless work within the veteran space.” Coverage of our win is forthcoming.
